Just over 2 weeks without coffee. I am feeling much better now, however I had to take prednisone this past week. But am feeling much better. Have been doing a lot of research on what is going on with me, and now I am wondering if I haven't fallen back into hypo mode. Going to have some blood work ran on Monday to see how I am doing - and will go from there. The website, Stop The Thyroid Madness has really been helpful of trying to figure out what may be going on with me. On to better days!!!

The past  couple weeks I seem to really be going down hill. I think I am having "fibro flare". So I have gone a cleansing diet this past week. I am going to quit "coffee" now. Already down 4.5 lbs. (part of that had been gained in the past week) Today I am not feeling well at all though. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with the feeling of acid running through my veins. It has been extremely uncomfortable. My diet is basically just vegetable and fruit smoothies. Fresh fruit and veggies. Quinoa with blueberries. Quinoa with asparagus. Herbal teas and LOTS of water. When doing a cleanse, it is always better to use food than using those dangerous "cleansing products". It is really amazing to me that even with my healthy eating how much toxins I must have, as I really feel like crap. I have been working during the day, and going home at 6:00 and going straight to bed. Hopefully I will begin to see some relief in the next few days. Along with continued weight loss.

The past few months I have been really suffering from some serious digestive problems. After many tests, blood, ultrasounds, and Radioactive Isotope Nuclear Medicine I had enough with doctors and took matters into my own hands.

Being vegan for 2 1/2 years has been a great blessing, and I have enjoyed tremendously the new foods and learning how to cook in a completely different way. Because I saw such a huge change in my health when I changed my diet, mainly using Dr. Fuhrmans Eat to Live program - I knew that once again I could probably find some relief with changes in my diet.

So, I have been eating sweet potatoes like crazy lately. They seem to be one of the few things that do not seem to upset my digestive system. I know that in Traditional Chinese Medicine sweet potatoes are highly regarded for treating digestive problems, along with nourishing the spleen. For me that makes it a perfect food as I am considered "Spleen Deficiecient" along with dampness in my body. So eating sweet potatoes hopefully will not only continue to help my digestive system, but possibly help my spleen become stronger.

In addition, I began taking Vitalzym again. It is amazing how much this enzyme has helped. I had purchased this last year, but only took it for a couple months as it seemed to have done its job and I had stopped. When I started having digestive problems again, and none of my doctors or alternative health care providers could help me, I started trying lots of different things. The Vitalzym seems to be the one thing that has been the most effective in helping my digestive system. I still have been having a difficult time digesting food - but the sweet potatoes seem to be fine.
